Mind Sports International announces Collaboration with British Colleges Sport (BCS)

Plymouth, United Kingdom (23 April, 2014) - Mind Sports International is delighted to be sponsors of British Colleges Sport, establishing close collaboration in order to bring organised mind sports to College students through the Mind Sports Academy.

The collaboration will be most visible during College Sport Week 2014 (28th April 2014 – 1st May 2014) at St George’s Park, the F.A.s National Football Academy where Mind Sports Academy will be actively promoting their online and live event tournaments for Chess, Scrabble, Magic: The Gathering and eSports.

Dave Brannan, CEO of Mind Sports International commented “The student community embraces mind sports – BCS has identified the trend and this new relationship offers great opportunities for the expansion of our core sports across the student population”

BCS operates a regional structure whose responsibility it is to organise tournaments for member colleges. Each region organises a regional qualifier in each of the sports which ultimately leads to the National Championships

The BCS National Championships take place once a year in March/April and is one of the biggest annual multi-sport events in the UK. Each year around 2000 students and staff from all over the UK meet up for sporting competitions in 14 different sports. The introduction of teams from Scotland and a football tournament for students with learning difficulties have added to the event, reaching across all areas of college life.

Mind Sports International will be present at College Sport Week and working with British Colleges Sport to raise awareness of the exciting opportunities for students to take part in Mind Sports Academy Live events and on our mindsportsacademy.com online membership scheme, puzzles and games.

A holder of numerous brand licenses, Mind Sports International continues to invest in core areas of mind sports with new products planned for the next 12 months. Including but not restricted to licenses and partnerships with all the game manufacturers.
